What the company does

Vellix Ventures publishes The Burnout Podcasts, an audio network of 81 shows across 13 channels on Apple Podcasts. Each show takes a single non-fiction or fiction title and works through it as a season of episodes of original commentary. More than 1,600 episodes have been released, and the network publishes every day.

Alongside it we build software for the same audience. StudyBot GPT is live on the web. Two applications for iPhone and iPad are in development: a back-care programme, and a listening app for the network itself.

How it is run

The company is small by design. Production, editorial and engineering sit in one place, which is what makes a daily release schedule across the whole network possible at all. There is a single editorial standard, and it applies to every show regardless of how large its channel is.

We only list a property once it is live. Every link on this site opens the actual product — the podcast channels on Apple, the web app, the network’s own site. Work that is still being built is described as being built, and named as such.

Editorial position

What we publish is original commentary and analysis. We do not reproduce the text of the books we discuss and we do not republish audiobook recordings. Where a listener wants the book itself, we say so and point them to it.
